From the start, I had very little camera knowledge. I had no idea how to even work one nor the correct settings for good photos. I had no idea what aperture, shutter speed or iso meant. I took digital photography to expand my knowledge in photography as it has always been an interest to me. The first few photoshoots we had were a challenge to me. I mostly shot in auto at first because I was afraid to mess with the settings. My first photos turned out decent, not the best based on my lack of knowledge. Then I really had to get out of my comfort zone because of all the shooting assignments we had. After I had learned some basic knowledge about the camera I attempted to mess with the settings. After I did this, I think my creative side started to come out. When I realized the difference can make when you chose the settings, I rarely used auto. My first few photoshoots were a bit challenging but along the way I think I started to get more creative and comfortable taking photos. Afterwards when we started to get into the photoshop assignments I was really frustrated with the program and had no idea how to work it. The first few didn't turn out as well as I wanted, but it's a learning process. Compared to my recent photoshop work, I think I've learned a few tips and tricks in the program. Overall, I went from knowing absolutely nothing about cameras or an understanding for photography, to having an appreciation for it. In photography there are no limits and it's such a great way to express yourself. The reason I took the class was apart of being a photographer for yearbook but I feel like there was more to take away from the class. I really enjoyed the freedom and creativity we had in the class. I feel like I've learned a lot but I want to improve my skills in photography every day. This class has advanced my knowledge and allowed me to pursue something involving photography.
